began his professional journey with Pan American World Airways after completing his service in the United States Navy. At Pan American, he dedicated 12 years to heavy service maintenance, where he honed his technical skills. His commitment and expertise led to a transition into the field of Reliability and Engineering, marking a pivotal development in his career.
Building on his technical foundation, Mr. Santangelo joined the start-up team for the Trump Shuttle. In this role, he served as Manager of Reliability and Engineering, further demonstrating his leadership abilities and expanding his impact within the aviation industry.
Following his tenure at Trump Shuttle, Mr. Santangelo became Vice President of Technical Operations at C-S Aviation Services, a Soros Aviation Company. When C-S Aviation Services closed, he continued in this capacity at Bravia Capital. In these roles, he contributed significant technical expertise in areas such as aircraft maintenance specifications, Federal Air Regulatory compliance, and record-keeping systems. His responsibilities included close interactions with federal agencies, component vendors, and aircraft manufacturers, addressing a diverse range of technical matters, including new aircraft certification and participation in National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigations. Notably, he served on several Maintenance Steering Groups (MSG) for the certification of Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
In 1990, Mr. Santangelo joined Tower Air as Director of Engineering. Over six years, he managed and oversaw multiple departments, including Aircraft Records, Maintenance Scheduling, Aircraft Engineering, Powerplant Engineering, Reliability, and Technical Publications. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in the company’s expansion, guiding its growth from a fleet of four Boeing 747 aircraft to twelve.
Mr. Santangelo holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from City College of New York (CCNY), with a concentration in Behavioral Approach to Management. He is also a graduate of New York Queensborough College, where he earned an Associate degree in Applied Science and completed basic engineering courses. In addition to his industry experience, Mr. Santangelo spent several years teaching night classes at the Academy of Aeronautics in New York and provided instruction on aircraft systems to foreign airlines through Pan Am World Services.
